Engineering Account Manager

As a leading specialist manufacturer of highly engineered CNC components and assemblies, my client is a significant and growing presence in the Automotive Turbocharger, Fluid Power and Powertrain segments. This is a company who have a clear vision to continue their double digit growth by engineering the lowest total cost through advanced manufacturing solutions.
We are looking for a dynamic & professional Key Account Manager to join the team in order to manage an existing client base and enhance their ability to win business with existing and new customers.
As Key Account Manager you will report to the Director of Business Development, working in close collaboration with the Advanced Engineering Manager and Project Manager to continue the rapid growth of the business; the position includes the following functions:
Day to day management of a selected number of key customer accounts
Travel domestically and globally in order to develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and new clients.
Travel (where appropriate) to promote the company and develop and realise new opportunities.
Develop prospects into tangible projects that can deliver additional growth for the business.
Deliver quotations in a timely manner in line with company standards and client expectations.
Determine (in conjunction with the NPI management team) priorities for quotation submission & prototype manufacture.
Understand and document the organisational structures of clients and potential clients – identify the enablers and decision makers.
Identify and attend trade shows that will help promote the company in the key markets
Requirements of the applicant
Ideally qualified to degree/HNC level in an engineering based discipline.
A minimum of 3 years technical experience in a CNC precision volume component manufacturing environment
Commercial acumen and understanding of OE, 1st and 2nd tier customer / supplier relationships, ideally in the automotive industry.
A highly motivated, well organised individual who is driven by results.
Sound and thorough understanding of the automotive working practices and principles.
A minimum of 3 years in a customer facing role.
First class administrative and IT skills.
Located, or willingness to locate to the North West of England.
A good communicator and key influencer of colleagues and clients.
A natural flair for delivering practical solutions quickly, under pressure and to deadlines is essential.
Must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work individually and within teams.
