Full Description
An exciting opportunity to join a world leading Company within our specialist flooring manufacturing division. Working within a laboratory environment, training to carry out testing, analysis, research and investigation to ensure the Company’s products meet the Quality Control protocols as stipulated in the testing procedures. The apprenticeship will lead to progression to a Laboratory Assistant.

Conren Limited is a specialist manufacturer and installer of resin coatings, screeds, anti-slip systems, waterproofing compounds, safety play surfacing and high friction anti-skid for roads.
Our products of are developed and produced from our two sites in Wrexham and Holmewood. This position will be based at our site in Holmewood, working within a small team and reporting to the Quality Technologist. Our laboratory team ensure that our products meet the required quality standards and are also involved in the development of new products.

The main duties for this role are:
Quality Control Testing
Collect and analyse samples
Setting up Laboratory equipment for testing
Test production batches and ensure they meet the required standards.
Meticulously record and present data
Maintain a high level of accuracy always.
Liaise with Production on testing and QC approval to ensure this is maintained is line with
Production deadlines.
On-site VOC testing.
Chemical Handling
To ensure a high level of safety, care and attention is maintained always in respect of the
chemicals handled in the Laboratory, including using appropriate PPE.
Assist in the safe storage / labelling of test samples.
Assist in the disposal of chemicals and waste from the Laboratory in a safe and appropriate way.
Ensure accurate records are maintained on the appropriate software to allow analysis and testing information to be tracked.
Assist in the analysis of recorded data and, as necessary, produce relevant reports.
Ensure all relevant paperwork is kept up to date and in accordance with the Company’s ISO 9001 2008 quality procedures.
To produce and file all paperwork associated with the testing protocols.

Provide Laboratory Support
To assist in the smooth running of the Laboratory and to ensure the testing equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Assist in the making of product samples for marketing purposes.

Assist the Quality Technologist to run specific development testing as and when required, to include reviewing potential new raw materials and R&D projects. NVQ Level 2 & Level 3 Laboratory training available as part of apprenticeship.

Working Week
37.5 hours per week
core hours are 8.00 am to 4.30 pm (with 2 x 15 mins break and half hour lunch)
Monday to Friday, but occasionally outside these hours.

£225 per week
