We are really pleased to be partnering a growing leisure business as they recruit a permanent Category Manager for their head office Buying team. This role would be particularly suitable for those of you with a genuine interest in sport and the outdoors!
This role will see you take responsibility for the commercial performance of the company's clothing range. You will provide commercial input to shape the future development of the clothing category. The right candidate will need to be enthusiastic and positive, commercially engaged, with great attention to detail and an aptitude to being analytical.
At least 18 months Purchasing experience is needed however what is more important is for the right person to be an active outdoors person who enjoys keeping fit and getting involved in sports.
Be responsible for the success and growth of the clothing category across all channels, with particular regard to online sales
Take ownership of revenue, margin and stock performance with regular reporting to all levels of the organisation
Create and develop a long term plan and strategy for the development of the category
Continually enhance commercial relationships with major suppliers
Coordinate purchase order requirements with the buying team, in part through ongoing reviews and changes of the restock levels, and liaising with the store teams and warehouse teams to resolve any issues affecting stock availability
Conduct regular stock and sales analysis work, providing ongoing insights and recommended actions in response to trading conditions
Coordinate sku creation requests which come from across the wider team in addition to your own buying activities
Manage one other member of the team
Who should apply?
The right person will have at least 18 months buying experience ideally within a leisure or retail environment. The client will consider those of you with less purchasing experience if you demonstrate the right cultural fit as well as those of you with more purchasing experience looking to work at the top end salary level for the foreseeable future.
