Job Description

Procurement Manager/Category Manager

This is your chance to work within the procurement team of a very large and prestigious organisation and be responsible for the development of category strategies and sourcing across a number of specialist categories.

The role will involve the following :

Stakeholder relationship management

Category strategy definition

Monitoring supply chain relationships internally and externally ensure supply chain efficiency

Supporting and if necessary managing end to end procurement processes within relevant categories

Representing the organisation for specific categories within a relevant procurement community

Responsible for spend in categories managed up to £40M+

Supplier management

Contract management of key suppliers

To be considered for this role, you will need the following attributes :

MICPS qualified or part-qualified

Strong procurement experience within large organisations leading specific categories

Excellent leadership skills

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholders and suppliers

Demonstrable evidence of obtaining value previously for internal stakeholders from relevant suppliers

Good contract management experience

Some understanding of the law in relation to procurement eg DPA, FOI act, etc
