This role is a great opportunity for a talented maths graduate to inspire young people to get excited about and be more confident with maths. Day-to-day, the role will require you to deliver pre-planned work to small groups of students or on a 1:1 basis, as well as assisting the class teacher with classroom activities. You will primarily delivering these lessons to groups of Year 7 students who have not met the expected levels in their first year of secondary school. The role is exciting and varied with the potential of gaining more responsibility and eventually organising and delivering your own booster sessions. You will also be supporting through the rest of KS3 to ensure the smooth transition from one year to the next and to support the progress of all students.
The perfect candidate for this role will have a degree in mathematics or other related degree and will have a keen interest in supporting and empowering students to be the best they can be. You will need to be patient and resilient, with an outgoing and enthusiastic personality. In addition, you will need to have a commitment to a career in education. There is an element of flexibility to this role, whereby you may be working with one group one day and then another the next.
