As an Apprentice Catering Assistant, you will be working under the guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager, the role of Catering Assistant is to ensure that the kitchen and restaurant areas are clean and operational.

Due to the nature of the role, the Catering Assistant's role is quite diverse, so there will be involvement in basic food preparation, restaurant waiting-on duties and on-course catering.

Summary, Duties & Responsibilities:
? Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
? Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
? Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients.
? Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and helping to prepare salads and desserts.
? Disposing of rubbish.
? Organising linen laundry.
? Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
? Basic food preparation alongside Chefs.
? Supporting the Front of House team with food service and waiting on.

Skills Required :
? Understanding the importance of health and hygiene.
? Plenty of stamina.
? A great team player.
? The ability to listen and learn.

Other Information :
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
