Role: Careers Advisor

Hours: 37.5 between Monday- Friday, must be flexible in order to comply with company needs

Location: Greater Manchester Area (field based)

Salary: £20,400 basic and company car

Ginger Recruitment are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s leading training providers focussing on advising teenagers on their career options, with a key focus in promoting the opportunities the training provider has to offer.

The key purpose of this role is to engage with young people to promote Apprenticeships and Training opportunities within schools and community venues throughout the Greater Manchester area. Delivery of IAG activities, interviewing, employability skills development and attendance at events/parent’s evenings will be a key part of the role therefore, flexibility on working hours is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities;

¶To market the group across educational and community sectors both inside/outside of normal working hours

¶To participate in careers events at youth clubs and community centres engaging with communities and the teenage market

¶To promote a professional and helpful image within schools and the community

¶To liaise with YPS (Youth Peoples Services), ESFA (Education & Skills Funding Agency) and other agencies to maximise efforts in increasing participation in available programmes

¶To carry out presentations to classes and assemblies regarding Apprenticeships/Study Programme/Traineeships at Schools request

¶To maintain team database and produce reports for the Recruitment Co-ordinator and Sales, Recruitment & Marketing Manager as requested

¶Create initiatives on how our client can help School’s to promote the Apprenticeships/Study Programme/Traineeship

¶Ensure that employers are suitable for meeting the training needs of the programme

¶Liaise with the Recruitment Team regarding vacancies with no applicants and promote these via community liaison and engagement

¶To market the group to young people both inside/outside of normal working hours by:

-Arranging Visits to our clients main site in Lancashire

-Arranging Open Days

-Arranging School Visits

-Attending Career Events

-Holding Promotional Events I.e. Parents Days/Evenings

-Holding Events at Youth Clubs etc

-Attending industry days/mock interviews etc in school

-Delivering Enterprise sessions

The perfect candidate will;

¶Be experienced in delivering careers advice to teenagers/young adults

¶Be flexible in working hours, covering parent’s evenings and open evenings as and when required

¶Hold an IAG qualification Level 3 or above

¶Be an excellent communicator and present themselves in a professional manner at all times
