Role Title: Project Manager, L5 Reports to: B&P Executive MBDA level of role: Level 5 Directorate: Programmes Location: Bristol MBDA Reference Number: P7550 Role Purpose: To act as the Business & Performance Manager for the Sparkworks Sector within the Future Systems Business Area. To define, plan and deliver a portfolio of small to medium sized contracts and projects against the business plan targets through rigorous cost control and schedule adherence. Manage Customer and project stakeholder interfaces and ensure accurate reporting of progress against all aspects of contract performance. Accountabilities: Manage and control contract costs at completions and cash flow, maximising margin and agreeing margin adjustment criteria. Co-ordination interfaces with internal functions and directorates. Prepare reports covering business performance for the Sector including; Novel Systems, TCW Concepting Studies, and ITP Project Reviews, Sector Reviews and Future Systems Business Review. Ensure WBS/Cost Collection structures and Project Plans are defined, agreed and maintained. Prepare and maintain contract risk and opportunity plans/budgets and implement associated processes. Negotiate in conjunction with the B&P, Commercial and Finance Executives to approve contract changes. Establish and implement effective PM processes, tools and reporting mechanisms on achievement of performance and budgets. Negotiate and maintain top level plans, objectives and statements of work. Lead and influence multi-disciplined project teams and encourage strong team working within and beyond the B&P function. Support the B&P Exec and sector B&P team on the commercial and legal integrity of contracts with the customer and effective management of the supply base. Plan, load and control contract budgets in the defined WBS. Maintain set of project task directives and amendments. Ensure work load forecast is available for the sector in line with project and business plans. Develop and maintain key relationships with the customer and other external agencies. Generation and implementation of programme business improvement strategies. Skills and Knowledge: You will need to be eligible for Developed Vetting (DV) UK Security Clearance (most comprehensive UK government security clearance process). Strong project and risk management skills and knowledge. Sound business judgement. Technical appreciation of complex problems. Strong communication and motivational skills. 5+ years management experience, covering financial, commercial, engineering and project areas.
