Head of Research Strategy and Evaluation

Are you someone who wants to make a real difference through your work? Are you looking to apply your significant strategy experience to some of the most interesting and challenging strategic questions that will help us to beat cancer sooner?

We are looking for an experienced strategist to lead a dedicated team of strategists and evaluation analysts, determining our research priorities and driving strategic shifts to deliver progress against our ambitious objectives.

Your leadership will be critical to the development of robust strategic thinking around key questions such as: How can we accelerate research into early detection to drive better patient outcomes? How should CRUK respond to emerging fields and technologies to enable greater progress through our research? Where does CRUK's investment have the greatest impact and how should this inform our future priorities?

This is an exciting opportunity and a high profile role, you'll bring:

  • A strong background in business strategy, gained through management consultancy and/or internal strategy positions, preferably in the healthcare or life sciences sector
  • A track record of developing high impact strategies that are successfully implemented and critically evaluated
  • A structured approach to problem solving, together with a working knowledge of strategic planning tools and frameworks
  • Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence up to board level
  • Experience of leading high performing teams

It would be desirable for the successful candidate to also have a degree/PHD in a science/Healthcare/Cancer related discipline although this is not essential.
