Strategy Planning and Performance Manager
Location: Moorgate, London
Contract type: Permanent
Hours per week: 35
Salary: Circa 35,000 per annum including London weighting

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Strategy Planning and Performance Manager to drive a programme of performance management improvement that will provide evidence and insight to the chief executive, executive leadership team and board of trustees on delivery of the strategy.

About the role
Working at the heart of the British Red Cross in the strategy planning and performance team, the Strategy Planning and Performance Manager will drive a programme to improve strategic performance management that will transform how the organisation tracks delivery of its strategic commitments and use of resources. They will also be responsible for oversight and continuous improvement of the corporate business planning and quarterly reporting processes working with senior leadership and in collaboration with finance teams.

The Strategy Planning and Performance Manager will manage the corporate planning and reporting officer, supporting them to play a fulfilling role and develop their skills and capabilities.

About the team
The strategy planning and performance team is responsible for ensuring accountability and transparency against the British Red Cross strategic commitments through oversight of strategic business planning, corporate performance management, risk management and corporate impact reporting. The team plays a key role in ensuring the British Red Cross is a trusted and relevant organisation.

About the person
The Strategy Planning and Performance Manager must demonstrate the ability to drive improvement and change in a large and complex organisation with long-standing ways of working in place.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a confident self-starter able to work dynamically and challenge with sensitivity to bring about meaningful change.
  • Have proven strategic performance management skills and proven experience working with quantitative and qualitative measure and handling multiple data streams.
  • Need to pay keen attention to detail, demonstrating curiosity and tenacity to drill down and challenge where necessary to develop a clear and accurate picture of strategic performance.
  • They will work independently and creatively in a small team, taking responsibility for the quality of delivery.
