The Client:

Regional financial services business providing personal finance and insurance products.

This Client does not provide sponsorship.

The role-

  • To provide compliance support and guidance to the business
  • Being a technical reference point in respect of the FCA Handbook requirements
  • To participate in the implementation of any GDPR project
  • Ongoing review and updating of compliance risks to the business as part of the operational risk management process
  • Work with key business stakeholders to analyse the potential impact of compliance regulations and/or
  • legislation on existing and new processes
  • Implementing solutions to ensure risk of noncompliance is minimised
  • Support operational managers in implementing compliance initiatives
  • Assist in design of appropriate compliance policies, procedures and practices to assist in developing compliant behaviours
  • Establish and undertake an effective internal monitoring programme to monitor ongoing regulatory and legislative compliance. Undertake monitoring reviews, analyse results and assist management to make appropriate changes to controls/procedures as required
  • Regularly provide relevant compliance management information to the Board and management team including reporting of any breaches of policy or procedures
  • Assist in the reporting requirements for FCA and/or other legal or regulatory bodies
  • Managing responses to SARs
  • Act as a point of contact for AML / Financial Crime matters including on boarding new and monitoring existing clients, partners, distributors including due diligence and detecting financial crime
  • Review and sign off literature and other marketing collateral against FCA Financial Promotions rules
  • Ensuring adequate procedures are in place within propositions to develop, manage and review the proposition
  • Ensuring TCF is considered in marketing activities, acting as a TCF champion within the team
  • Implement relevant staff training programs across the business

Skill set-

  • Significant experience in compliance professional discipline in a senior capacity
  • Advanced degree and/or professional designation required (ICA)
  • FCA approach to supervision
  • Compliance / regulatory / legal experience in financial services, consumer credit
  • Excellent understanding of relevant FCA rules, FOS, Data Protection legislation Anti Financial Crime legislations and Bribery Act 2010
  • In depth understanding of the financial services sector/consumer credit sector
  • Strongly analytical with excellent commercial and financial acumen
  • Strong capability in strategic thinking and effective business planning with highly developed customer and market insight
  • Well-developed leadership skills (both people and thought)
  • High levels of drive, energy and personal commitment to success
  • Ability to package and present ideas in a persuasive manner
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple and complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of management, regulators, and committees of the Board of Directors
