Our Client, based in Surrey, is currently looking to recruit an experienced DevOps Systems Engineer to join their Platform Services team, which is responsible for infrastructure automation and release processes. The Company relies on a digital platform to serve hundreds of thousands of quotes a day and the Linux Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting and monitoring this platform. A part of this role, you will be involved with DevOps, so the successful candidate will show a passion and desire to get into DevOps. Key responsibilities for the Linux Systems Engineer: * Support Linux and Java/Oracle apps hosted in private datacentres and public clouds (AWS) * Use Puppet for configuration management * Work within Production and Non-Production Environment * Use of Docker, ?cloud first? technologies (such as Springboot and NoSQL) and moving more of their production applications to AWS * Work as part of an Agile team * Management of on-demand cloud environments * Implement application and database releases in multiple environments, including production (out of hours work sometimes required) * Working closely with development and operations colleagues Key Skills & experience for the Linux Systems Engineer: Essential; * Strong Linux Systems experience * Strong desire to get into DevOps * Experience of working within a Production and Non-Production environment * Source Control (git) * Excellent communication skills Desirable; * Insurance or Financial Services industry experience * Worked within Kanban or SCRUM environment * AWS Cloud experience * Configuration management tools Key Words : Linux / Unix / Systems Administrator / Engineer / DevOps / Platform Services / Software Release / Java / Oracle / git / AWS / Cloud / Production / Non-Production / Puppet/ Docker To discuss your suitability for this role further, please simply apply below.
