Senior JAVA Developer (London, Permanent, Full Time) Summary A position has become available in our multi award-winning internet company for a talented and motivated senior JAVA developer to work with the supplier product development team. This is a new role following restructuring and substantial expansion of our dev teams. Your role You will be part of a cross functional team responsible for developing and maintaining our supplier-side products, from SAAS APIs, high-throughput transaction processing to web applications. You will be involved in the full development life cycle from idea, design to launch and support. You will work closely a London-based Product Manager and collaborate with both Manila and London based Developers, QA and IT Operations teams. Your profile We are looking for a talented, passionate Senior Java Developer to join us. You will be working with the latest modern technology, as part of a highly skilled team developing applications using different technologies and frameworks. You will have a passion for technology and interest in modern web technologies including JavaScript. BSc or MSc in computer science is not required but strongly preferable. Required skills Five or more years’ experience in software development. Strong Java 8 experience. Experience of Spring, particularly Spring Boot / Spring Cloud. A good level of SQL is required, Oracle (PL/SQL) is desirable. Experience in developing, maintaining HTTP/REST APIs. Experience of queuing, messaging systems. Experience in TDD, BDD, End to End tests/frameworks. Experience with Scrum and/or other agile methodologies. Strong communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving mindset. Desired Skills Good experience in other programming languages. Apache Tomcat and ActiveMQ experience. Secure coding and modern web security essentials. Commercial experience in development with Angular/React or similar JavaScript MVC frameworks/libraries. DevOps: Docker, Vagrant, configuration management and orchestration tools
