We are looking for an HSSE Governance Specialist. HSSE Governance Specialist Responsibilities We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join E.ON as a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Governance Specialist to ensure the governance of the organisation. Here’s what you’ll be doing: You will provide specialist expertise and advice on risk management, horizon scanning and management system, working across the business to promote HSSE standards. You’ll oversee strategic risk reviews for the UK business and make recommendations on risk responses and improvement actions. Taking a leading role in the maintenance and refresh of HSSE standards and policies and business guidance across E.ON in the UK, your assurance to senior leadership teams that appropriate HSSE strategies are in place will be invaluable to the company. And so will your overseeing to ensure these strategies are integrated into business decisions and reflect the priorities set by the regional board. This role includes working with multiple stakeholders ranging from external to internal and from operational and management teams up to Board level. This role will also be expected to work together as part of the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Function to promote our values for the business. Qualifications What we need from you A Degree (or working towards) in Health and Safety, Security or the Environment or equivalent Chartered HSSE professional or equivalent (or demonstrable IPD/CPD equivalent) Detailed understanding of HSSE legislation. Working knowledge of relevant ISO standards or equivalent for HSSE, such as ISO 14001, 45001, 27001, 22301 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards Ability to develop strategies, manage and influence in HSSE across businesses Knowledge and operational experience from one of the following sectors: energy; large process-based industries; petrochemical industry; asset-based businesses; safety critical industries; risk management industries; engineering project management. Proven ability to manage and effectively communicate with key stakeholders Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting projects/demands It would be great if you had: Experience acting on your own initiative and taking ownership of projects or issues Excellent attention to detail A methodical approach and the ability to follow through, even for small matters Good oral and written communication at all levels The ability to work as part of and/or lead a team A proven ability to positively influence others The ability to work on own initiative and deliver key objectives The ability to work under pressure Excellent communication and presentation skills in a variety of formats to different audience levels and types What we’ll give you in return 2 for 1 pension contributions Comprehensive flexible benefits scheme Voluntary benefits – discount and cashback Group Life Insurance Personal Accident Insurance Financial advice and guidance website Additional information This role can be based in Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry or Kingswinford, but will require UK wide travel and occasional international travel.
