Our client is looking for a PA / Legal Secretary to join their prestigious law firm in Northampton. To provide high quality, confidential secretarial support and administrative assistant to a Partner and to members of the wider business Unit. To also provide confidential secretarial and administrative support to the under sheriff in the management of the office of the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire.

The role is paying £23,000 per annum. The law firm is near Northampton town centre with free private parking. You will be required to work Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm.

The role involves;

Liaising with the High Sheriff, County dignitaries, the Court and local judiciary.
Assisting with the arrangement of several large events, including Declaration Ceremony and Annual Courts Service.
Ensuring that all records are kept up to date.

Diary Management
Ensuring that electronic diary is kept up to date including all appointments, reminders and tasks.
Monitoring the diary to make sure that any necessary arrangements are in place before any appointment/meetings.

Travel Arrangements
Booking flights, accommodation, rail and other transport requirements as necessary, including travel arrangements for Law Exchange.

Preparing and completing as much as possible (including the conflict check) of the Matter Opening Form and then making sure the form is completed by the relevant fee earner.
Preparing client engagement correspondence and ensuring it is sent out to the client and then making sure we receive, and if necessary chasing for, the client's signed copy. Checking and chasing for ID as part of the MOF process. Preparing correspondence and documents through audio typing and word processing.
Opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files and ensuring their Lexcel compliance.
Attending clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner.

Preparing and issuing of client invoices in accordance with firm procedures.
Arranging cheque requisitions, BACs payments and transfers and to ensure received funds are credited immediately upon receipt.
Ensuring all expenses/disbursements are accurately recorded to ensure prompt reimbursement.
