Primary Learning Support Assistant (SEN)
Are you fed up from teaching or working in schools, but still want to support young people who have barriers to learning? You might not have a teaching qualification or decades of experience, but what you do have is an unwavering commitment to keeping vulnerable young people safe and giving them another chance at learning. This time you're going to focus on your student's needs and not all the constraining requirements put on you by the school. Imagine being able to plan a bespoke session for 1 student, designing it around their interests and having the flexibility to adapt it based on their emotional needs rather than provide crowd control for 30 students. This can be a reality if you have the relevant experience, required skill set and necessary characteristics. You're going to need at least two years of experience working alongside young people with Special Educational Needs and those who demonstrate challenging behaviours and barriers to learning. This can be in the form of ASD, ADHD, GDD, SEMH, MLD, SpLD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia to name a few. If you have this relevant experience, ability to engage and inspire a young person as well as the understanding of how to use specific interventions and de-escalate potential challenging situations then we want to hear from you.
