SENIOR ENGINEER Engineering Change and Compliance Permanent Position – Heatrae Sadia - Location: Norwich The Company Heatrae Sadia (Baxi Heating UK Limited) is part of the BDR Thermea Group which is a world leading manufacturer and distributor of sustainable and smart climate and sanitary hot water solutions and services, operating in a market worth over €16 billion of annual sales. The Role: Operating at a senior level the Senior Engineer is required to manage the allocation of work within the Project team to ensure that all projects are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales and to budget requirements. You will be required to research and Develop market leading products, whilst maintaining a focus on design for manufacture and product compliance. Key Tasks & Responsibilities will include: Successfully implementing engineering changes in line with the agreed brief and scope. Managing projects to ensure continuous improvement with regards to product quality and reliability. To continually manage and assist in development of the engineering change process to ensure a smooth and effective implementation to production. Ensure drawings and 3D models are complete in-line with project delivery using the company’s CAD system Ensuring products are tested for quality and reliability using the company’s laboratory facilities. To continually understand how and when new legislation will impact product design, and compliance. Visit and work with suppliers to investigate new opportunities and deliver reliable components for use with the company’s products Ensure product compliance for CE marking and to third party approvals, such as, BEAB, NEMKO and KIWA. Work with group processes for project delivery and reporting Ensuring accurate data is collated and structured for reliable and accurate Bill of Materials. Knowledge and Experience: The role requires knowledge of electrical products (water heaters would be an advantage) and experience of managing projects and/or Engineering change. Use and understanding of 3D/2D CAD is important as is a working knowledge of plastics, metal fabrication and finishing techniques. Knowledge of electronics and control systems would be advantageous for the future of product design.
