An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to join a Tax department in Bristol within a leading firm of Chartered Accountants and business advisers with offices in Bristol.The ideal candidate will be committed to a career in tax and will have strong relevant experience in a general practice.

The allocation of work includes preparation of personal and partnership SA returns, preparation of tax computations, CGT computations on the disposal of securities, chattels and property, assisting with planning and all related aspects of looking after the complex tax affairs of a variety of high net worth private clients. Experience of residence and domicile, including the statutory residence test and the remittance basis would be very useful, as would some knowledge or experience of trusts.

The ideal candidate will be an assistant manager or experienced senior with reviewing experience, committed to a career in tax and will have strong relevant experience in a general practice. Some experience of assisting in planning work, in addition to annual compliance work, is desirable.

The successful applicant will require confidence in dealing with partners and clients, have the ability to use their own initiative and to problem solve. In addition they will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner. With this role, come the pre-requisites that the candidate is motivated, committed and flexible with the ability to meet deadlines, as well as being a natural team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
