Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree with a passion to work with primary school children with Special Educational Needs as a teaching assistant?

Do you have experience working with students with SEN/Autism and would like to gain further experience in a primary school in Liverpool?

This two form entry mainstream primary school found in Liverpool are seeking a teaching assistant who is a Psychology graduate that can support and work with a boy in Year 5.

For this exciting opportunity to become a teaching assistant you must have achieved at least a 2:1 or above in your Psychology degree. School based experience is not essential, as long as you have worked with SEN and children previously and feel that you can transfer those skills. You must have a resilient and determined personality in order to make an impact on the child's learning.

In this rewarding role you will be working closely with the schools experienced SENCo and SEN team. You will specifically work with a little boy who is on the spectrum is struggling to cope with learning in his class group. He gets anxious and currently needs to be withdrawn from the class to continue his work. It is hoped that with your support you can help him access the curriculum along with his friends in the class. Initially you will work with him in class and continue to support when he has to work on his own and gradually help reduce the time he needs to be on his own.
