An innovative and efficient team player is required to contribute to the development of Library and Information Services at St. Andrew’s Healthcare, Northampton.

We seek a qualified librarian who is able to work alone and as part of a team. This role oversees the work of all Library Assistants and Volunteers, working in the Academic Library, Patients’ Libraries and Archives, across four locations.

Role and Person

You will demonstrate excellent communication, IT and customer service skills and will be able to engage with all our library members; supporting them in their recreational learning, educational and vocational needs.

St Andrew’s cares for a wide range of patients with mental ill-health, learning disabilities, brain injuries, autism spectrum disorders and other neurological conditions, and much of the work in the Library Service is patient-focused.You will interact sensitively and respectfully with all patients and contribute to transforming their lives.

Previous experience working in a health library is desirable. Full training will be given in the library systems and procedures, although a working knowledge of Heritage Cirqa and / or OpenGalaxy LMS’s would be an advantage.
