This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and personable graduate to gain invaluable experience in a school environment. To be successfully shortlisted you must be a degree holder with a strong academic record. You will have prior relevant experience, having supported Primary aged children with Autism. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who can commit for the rest of the academic year and can work full time and term time. Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant is a challenging position so you must have a genuine interest in working with SEN pupils. To be successful in such an environment, you will need to be enthusiastic and positive with a clear idea of why this particular role is so important to you.
The role will see you supporting a child in Reception who has autism. You will work in and out of class, supporting the child 1:1. This is challenging but very rewarding role so you must be resilient and show a real passion for working with SEN children. Your main aim will be to help the child to engage with the curriculum, supporting them emotionally and educationally to improve their results and make their school experience more enjoyable.
