Physics Graduate Teaching Assistant - Teacher Training Opportunity

  • GSCE and A Level Physics Teaching Assistant
  • Science Degree - Physics other Sciences considered
  • Graduate with 2:1 or above, preferably Russell Group
  • East Birmingham - Small Heath area
  • Supporting and passionate Science Department
  • £300 per week
  • Monday - Friday (term-time only)
  • Role starting ASAP!
  • Opportunity to train to teach in the same school

The role will require you to work in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis, helping these students to make the progress they need to reach their full potential in their GCSEs and A Levels. As you become more confident, you will be able to take on new responsibilities, such as assisting with leading the lessons, planning your own resources and even taking some practical lessons. You will play a key role in ensuring that pupils have a practical, fun and informative approach to their learning, as well as developing a love and appreciation for the sciences.

To be shortlisted for these roles, you will need to have a minimum of 2:1 degree in Physics or other related subject. It is not essential that you have experience, but you will need to demonstrate a level of understanding of the challenges you may face in a school setting and a willingness to take some responsibility for your own learning and development. It is important that you are ready to take on a challenge and eager to learn, to develop the skills needed to become an exceptional teacher. This is a highly rewarding role and the school are looking for a sparky, confident science graduate to bring another dimension to their team and school.

In return, you will receive support and guidance from a cooperative Science department, who understand and appreciate the impact a talented graduates like you can have when joining their school, not only in delivering key aspects of the curriculum but also when empowering and inspiring their students. This is a really exciting opportunity to gain paid experience in a Science Department before going on to a PGCE or Schools Direct Course next year.

The school is located just east of Birmingham and is easily commutable from the surrounding areas of Birmingham and Solihull.
