School Attendance Officer, Blackpool
A secondary school in the Blackpool and Fylde area is currently recruiting for an attendance officer on a temporary basis. This exciting role is to start ASAP and requires an experienced candidate due to the nature of the role. You will be required to work 8am-4pm for a period of 3-4 months.
The purpose of the attendance officer is to oversee attendance across the school, ensuring that students are attending and barriers to learning are addressed and reduced. You will be responsible for dealing with staff, pupils, parents and externals agencies and will be working within a small team dealing with registers, absence calls, follow ups and meeting with external agencies. You should have excellent SIMS experience and be able to produce detailed reports for SLT when required.
- Experience of working with vulnerable and disaffected pupils in both mainstream and specialist settings
- Needs a minimum of 2 years' experience working within an educational setting
- Experience of working with troubled families and pupils with poor attendance
- High level of confidence of working on SIMS
