Marketing & Events Assistant
To support the delivery of marketing and communications campaigns that effectively promote all of IGEM’s products and services to members and non-members via a range of channels.
Main duties and responsibilities
Ensuring that the IGEM website is kept up to date and that new content is frequently uploaded
Copy writing and managing the production of marketing communications materials including; presentations, leaflets, brochures etc.
Identifying and reviewing gas industry and energy sector publications
Preparing regular press releases and ensuring their inclusion in appropriate trade press
Sourcing and editing existing content and writing new content for inclusion in IGEM’s regular e-newsletters
Placing advertisements for the Institution’s products and services within suitable publications
Assisting with the planning and delivery of IGEM events
Coordinating IGEM’s attendance at gas/energy sector exhibitions
Monitoring IGEM’s presence on social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to ensure that new posts are regularly added.
Providing a secretarial service for the Marketing Committee, attending all meetings, preparing agendas, minutes etc.
Qualifications and experience
A relevant qualification(s) in marketing or communications would be an advantage but not essential.
Previous experience managing websites, email marketing campaigns and social media channels would be an advantage but is not essential.
Skills and attributes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A confident copywriter with the ability to turn technical information into engaging content
Comfortable dealing with individuals both inside and outside the Institution
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong project management skills, able to work to tight deadlines and manage tight budgets
Must be able to commute reliably to office base in Kegworth, Derbyshire. The Marketing Assistant will be required to travel in order to attend IGEM events and may be required to work additional hours on occasion.
