Geography Teaching Assistant- Graduate- lovely Leeds Secondary School

A Leeds Secondary school is keen to take on a graduate of Geography to enhance pupil progress!

Have you recently obtained a 1st or a 2:1 in Geography from a Russell Group University with the A levels & GCSEs to match?

Are you considering a career in teaching, and would like the opportunity to gain paid experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school based setting before starting teacher training?

A popular Secondary school based in Leeds, with an excellent Geography department, is looking for an inspiring graduate to join them this academic year as a Teaching Assistant.

Geography Teaching Assistant

  • Graduate, minimum 2:1
  • Running Geography interventions
  • Welcoming Secondary school - established Head teacher
  • Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Excellent guidance and training prior to PGCE
  • Starting ASAP
  • Earn up to £300 per week

This school has found that they have some additional funds and it is to plan to appoint a Geography specialist Teaching Assistant for the rest of the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a high achieving Geography graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree, to gain some paid experience as a Teaching Assistant before embarking on a career in teaching. You will need to have a real passion for your subject, and have the enthusiasm and resilience to pass this on to pupils. You will be required to have previous experience working with young people, however this does not necessarily need to have been within a school setting.

In this Geography Teaching Assistant post you will be spending most of your working day within the school's community-feel Humanities Department and you will be supporting the learning of pupils who speak 'English as an Additional Language'. You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 or group basis, with preparation for GCSE and A Level examinations. Throughout the year, you will receive guidance and training from i-teachers and the host school that will help you to develop the skills and competencies required for teaching, with potential opportunities to go on to the school's teacher training programme directly the following year.

If you think you have what it takes to succeed as a Geography Teaching Assistant and you are an ambitious Geography graduate, apply to join this fabulous school in Leeds! Click apply or send your CV and covering letter to Amy at i-teachers.
