Inflight Retail Marketing Manager, Luton
TUI Group is recruiting a marketing manager to manage the planning and creation of all inflight retail marketing material and promotional campaigns across four source-market airlines. As a marketing expert you will have a good understanding of best practice marketing techniques and will have the ability to adapt this to an airline environment.
This is an exciting time to be joining TUI as we insource a number of retail services from external suppliers to build a world-class Inflight Retail organisation. Marketing our product ranges to customers is a vital part of this initiative and so as the marketing manager you will be a crucial part of our success.
As the Marketing Manager you will report directly to the Head of Group Inflight Retail. You will work closely with internal customers, category managers and suppliers to develop suitable formats for brochures and menus, produce flat plans and manage the procurement of photography, design and print services. You will also advise source market teams on promotional material to help drive incremental revenue and margin as part of a wider promotional plan. Separate ranges are delivered for the summer and winter season in each of the four source markets so you will be working to produce eight separate brochures and eight separate menus a year.
You will be expected to use your marketing experience and adapt this for a very challenging travel retail environment where the brochure is the primary means of showcasing product. You will also be expected to work with other parts of the business to understand how digital and other forms of marketing could be used to engage customers earlier. You will have significant interaction with the source market commercial managers who will look to you for specialist support and advice in the development of all marketing material in conjunction with local creative agencies.
Reporting to you will be a Customer Insights Executive who will be responsible for driving a better understanding of our customers across all source markets.What we are looking for
- Proven marketing experience in a retail environment
- Understanding of current marketing trends and customer insights techniques
- Understanding of digital and other forms of marketing
- Good understanding of creative processes
- Negotiating skills
- Ability to develop excellent supplier relationships
- Strong internal stakeholder engagement skills
- Organised, determined, highly capable
- Flexibility to travel throughout Europe on a regular basis
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Ability to speak another language (French, Dutch or German) would be advantageous.
