Powwow are pleased to be working alongside a local college offering fantastic apprenticeship opportunities. We are currently looking for an apprentice criminal justice drug worker based in Sheffield.
Qualifications Required
Minimum of 4 GCSE or equivalent A-D grades including English, Maths and Science.

Full Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To assess service users, carrying out triage and comprehensive assessment as required and making onward referrals to specialist agencies where necessary.

To devise, monitor, review and update recovery plans within and between services to ensure that service user needs are met in an appropriate manner.

To assist in the day-to-day operation of the programme through the delivery of appropriate treatment interventions, including assessing risk and ensuring a safe environment.

To offer brief interventions, cognitive behavioural techniques and harm minimisation strategies to service users, depending on individual need.

To provide harm/risk reduction advice/information to service users entering or leaving the criminal justice system to raise awareness about substances, their use and effects.

To promote awareness of the range of DIP services available with police officers, the court, and other criminal justice agencies to encourage them to refer individuals through for assessment.

To record statistics in accordance with Addaction policy to ensure the integrity of information included in Quarterly and Annual Reports to funders; to keep appropriate records on work with service users

To support colleagues, volunteers and sessional workers, providing advice and guidance as appropriate to ensure that care standards are maintained and that service users receive the most appropriate care.

To ensure good working relationships are established and maintained with criminal justice and other voluntary and statutory agencies, with service users, their partners and Addaction team and management.

To develop own knowledge and practice, attend supervision and team meetings so as to fulfil a role as an effective member of the team.

To carry out any reasonable and lawful duties and responsibilities as required by Addaction managers.

Working Week
37.5 hours per week, 5 days over Sunday to Saturday. Working hours vary from 7am until 10pm.

£131.25 per week
