An exciting one year rotational Finance placement opportunity has arisen here at the New Look support centre based in Weymouth. Finance is a fundamental part of New Look. Not only is this department responsible for processing transactions to keep the ‘cogs’ of the business turning and tracking and reporting the performance of the business, it’s also where the management team goes for insight and guidance. As part of this programme, we’re looking for future leaders who can operate in this fast-paced, high performing environment.

Within your Finance placement, you'll be spending time on the following departments, INCLUDING:

Commercial Finance

Analysis of trading patterns and store performance. Will involve some time in store to understand operationsCore Finance

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and production of statutory accounts along with general ledger reconciliationsTreasury

Cash management and investments and well as liaising with investors as part of our Investor Relations teamTax

Including both Corporate Tax and VAT computationsCompany Secretary

Involved in Corporate Governance, Business Continuity & Health and Safety risk assessments and legislationProfit Protection

Analysing stock loss results and audit requirements in storeProcurement

Cost efficiency review and retendering of contractsEstates Management

Review of store rent and rates liabilities and Landlord negotiationProperty Project team

Understanding of store refit costs and Quantity Surveyor information. Controlling project spend within budgetMaintenance team

Involved in maintenance assessments for stores and landlord obligations. Undertake assessments and cost accordingly and manage to budget.WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
