OBD Calibration Engineer

The Company

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading automotive OEM who are currently experiencing a period of significant growth. The successful candidate will join a diverse and inclusive team environment, developing advanced technologies for future models.

The Role

·Supporting the development the Gasoline/Petrol Drivetrain OBD calibration team, programme plans and RFQ generation.

·ensuring that the calibration activities meet company PDS or SOR processes.

·Provide the PTEC Snr Manager with status reports and completed sign off documentation for the respective allotted vehicle programme.

·Support weekly team meetings and technical reviews.

·Powertrain EMS OBD calibration development in vehicle, on chassis rolls and engine dynamometer and develop EMS OBD calibration sign off criteria.

·Support in-market and environment testing (this will involve both national and international travel).

·Perform OBD and IUMPR engine calibration to meet programme and relevant legal targets.

·Co-ordination with other departments such as Vehicle Calibration, System Integration & Electrical to ensure OBD/IUMPR integrated calibration.

Experience Required

·Industry experience as an Engine OBD Calibration Engineer, with an OEM or a automotive engineering consultancy.

·HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

·Knowledge of Bosch EMS and ETAS INCA toolset.

·MATLAB experience an advantage but not essential.

·Experience of full programme lifecycle support, from concept to implementation and delivery.

·Knowledge of European emissions legislation.

·Broad knowledge of all Vehicle/Powertrain Mechanical Systems with an understanding of System Integration in overall programme delivery.

·Six Sigma knowledge or qualification an advantage but not essential.

This is a contract role, c.12 months duration.
