About the role:

·Oversee tender quotes.

·Sign off the brief for design consultants prior to engagement with appointed consultants.

·Sign off the brief for specialist consultants prior to engagement with appointed consultants.

·Oversee teams’ management of consultants during the delivery process including procurement.

·Refine Scopes.

·Oversee tender recommendations.

·Attend monthly project review meetings and senior management meetings to ensure full integration of design process within the business.

·Present overview of D+ to Technical Director.

·Keep abreast of industry, legislation and change.

·Liaise with PRS agents, HA agents and commercial agents to understand employer’s requirements and impact on budget.

·Accountable for accuracy, detail, buildability and value of all design and technical information.

·Liaise with all departments to ensure full integration of design process within business.

·Provide weekly update to technical queries and cost sensitive issues to the Technical Director.

·Oversee content of subcontractor start meetings and provide support where required.

·Present all relevant/current technical items at the management meeting.

·Visit site to ensure seamless transition from design to construction phase.

·Update team and department on changes to building regulations and planning legislation.

·Review how improvements can be made to department and technical procedures, develop improvements and brief the team on any changes.

·Create an environment to drive engagement.

·Manage all people processes - absence, performance, holidays.

·Drive effective collaborative relationships with colleagues in other departments.

·Manage the performance of Technical Managers, 121s, appraisals and dealing with under performance.

·Undertake regular team meetings.

·Recruit Technical Managers and support Technical Managers to undertake recruitment.

·Promote engagement and collaboration across own projects.

·Set day to day workload with direct reports.

About the requirements:

    Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in a Technical role or equivalent.Experience of working on mixed tenure private/affordable apartment developments.5 years’ experience of managing Managers.5 years’ experience of inputting into and delivering strategy.Membership of a relevant professional organisation (e.g. RIBA, MCIOB etc).Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Basic knowledge of Auto CAD.Leadership skills including:
    Setting objectives,Giving feedback,Coaching,Listening,Painting a compelling picture,Influencing others

The salary offered always depends on the level of experience of the candidate and their exposure to the relevant industry sector. In this instance they are looking to pay up to £90,000 basic plus package. The package includes:
