Senior Category Manager, IT | Financial Services | Bournemouth, Dorset
This innovative and unique financial services organisation is offering the newly created role of Senior Category Manager to be based in Bournemouth. You will be part of an IT Procurement team of 20 people and part of a wider function of more than 40 heads, focusing on the category management of Hardware, IT services, Telephony (WAN) and IT security products.
You will lead the development and execution of commercial strategies which provide competitive advantage for the business in the market. You will have a deep understanding of IT ensuring you are demonstrably the expert in this category, understanding key trends in the market and proactively using these to bring innovation into the business, whilst unlocking value year-on-year from commercial arrangements. Senior Category Managers will manage portfolios which are significant in terms of Customer and Business impact, spend, market complexity and scope.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- You must have demonstrable stakeholder management ability up to Executive level with the gravitas to interact and influence at that level to deliver effective Procurement strategies across LV which are collaborative and unlock Innovation.Strong experience of third-party contractual work is a must combined with the ability to lead and deliver initiatives to improve the quality and value of the components of our cost base within your assigned Category area.Deep understanding of the Customer Journey and how to continually improve service as a key differentiator in the marketplace.Strong leadership skills and behaviours in line the full suite of Leadership Attributes.Take leadership responsibility for providing day to day line management, coaching and developing others to ensure that performance objectives are met and team feel engaged, valued and motivated.
