We are currently searching for a highly experienced Senior Commercial Manager / National Account Manager to join one of the UK's leading frozen food wholesalers. Their varied range, which extends to 1000's of products from seafood to vegetables to desserts and a great deal more, can be found in every major supermarket across the UK and most dinner tables at home! The business has been established for over half a century with many major food manufacturers and reputable organisations throughout the Retail/Grocery, Foodservice and Hospitality sectors.

But this role is a little different .

The role of Senior Commercial Manager will involve developing business and maximising margins within the brand new chilled ready meals product line. Through a joint venture the company now has capabilities to produce a broad range of high quality own label chilled food products. The focus of the role therefore is to establish the new range within the existing customer base which includes all major grocery multiples, foodservice, hospitality and catering companies. You will have full P&L responsibility over the accounts which will require weekly analysis of major account data. As you begin to expand the sector coverage you will then have the opportunity to recruit your own sales team to ultimately report into yourself.

As a successful candidate, you will ideally have recent and up to date experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior National Account Manager within food with a focus on the grocery multiples. There is a strong element of business development within this position as you seek to establish the product throughout various sectors. As this is a senior position within the business you will be expected to be able to display strong leadership qualities and may even be managing a small team in your current role. It is essential you come from an own label/private label food background and have vast experience within NPD. It will also be a great advantage to have prior experience of chilled ready meal sales. You will regularly be working with production managers in order to meet customer demands so your ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business is highly important. What is also crucial is your personality and how you engage with your key customers.
