Role Purpose

The primary focus of this role will be to support the Management Accountant with the delivery of the month end process and documenting the keys tasks required in order to achieve a timely month end close.

Key Responsibilities

oMonthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including detailed summary of status of each site account

oMonthly reconciliation of business rates liabilities and administration of timely, accurate payments

oMonthly bank reconciliation of five accounts

oMaintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalizing new assets, disposals and running monthly depreciation

oClose out the month-end in line with a tight month-end timetable, ensuring all month end adjustments (prepayments, deferrals and accruals) are correctly supported, calculated and posted.

oSupport Accounts Receivable Manager with raising client invoices including quarterly rent, project fit outs, deposits, recharges and ad-hoc works on a timely basis

oResolve invoice queries and work with the Accounts Receivable Manager to ensure payment is received in accordance with invoice terms.

oDevelop a robust billing process alongside the Accounts Receivable Manager to ensure timely billing and minimize invoice queries

oAdministration of bank payments on bank online portal

oProduce informative process notes for all Management Accountant tasks

oSupport the Finance Manager in ad-hoc tasks, reporting requirements and projects, including process improvement, compliance budget/forecasts, and enhancement of accounting system.

Background and experience

oPart-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) management accountant with experience working in a busy finance department, handling multiple queries, prioritising and delivering on deadline.

Key skills and competencies

o Great initiative and a really hands-on attitude – able to see issues as they arise and respond/escalate as needed.

o Strong attention to detail, enjoy building and maintaining calendars, timetables and checklists to ensure the finance tasks run smoothly

o Great technical ability – instinctual knowledge for where the debits and credits should go and an ‘everything can be reconciled’ attitude

o Eager to learn and absorb information from the team, process and contribute own viewpoint/opinion

o Strong Excel and accounting system skills (Instant uses Great Plains)

o Informal, effective communications style
