Trainee Service Engineer
£25,000 - £30,000 + Overtime and Bonus

My Bristol based client is a market leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery used in both the automotive and aeronautical industries. Their products are manufactured on site in Bristol and are distributed worldwide, with their main markets being the UK, Europe, USA, China and Mexico.

Due to continued growth my client is seeking to appoint an individual who's characteristics meet the specific values embedded within the company.. The ideal candidate will thrive in this fast-paced, demanding environment and produce results required to delight customers. The position is predominantly based in Bristol however travel within the UK and abroad will be required which can be up to 1 month at a time although usually only last for 1 to 2 weeks. It is essential for this role to have the ability to be flexible.

The successful candidate will be thoroughly trained and will be taking on a split role to include:

*Build and Test of Special Purpose Machinery at their manufacturing site in Bristol
*Servicing of the balance machinery including customer training and other related engineering services at customer's factories throughout UK and the world.

*A desire to learn and able to take constructive criticism, listen and apply to own development
*Have some experience within engineering, demonstrating a planned desire to enter in to this industry.
*Confident in meeting new people, networking and building rapport and relationships with others.

General Overview of Responsibilities

*Building special purpose machinery
*Electrical integration
*Machine testing
*Fault finding
*Problem solving
*Balance machine servicing to include supervision of machine installation
*Machine commissioning
*Routine servicing
*Customer training.
*Working in the UK and abroad
*Out of hour's technical support (rota)

Required Experience/Qualities

*Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
*Previous experience of fitting and/or machining
*Should be IT literate
*Use of general hand tools
*Use of powered hand tools
*A sound understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and manufacturing processes
*Proficient in the project management of customers, suppliers and personnel
*Proficient in consultation and negotiation techniques
*Fully proficient in Microsoft Office products

Relevant Apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Remuneration & Package includes

£25k to £30k per annum depending on experience, overtime, bonus, use of a company car.
