Hamlin Knight are currently recruiting for a Data Risk Compliance Officer for a well established property and housing company based in Warwick. This role is for a 6-12 month contract.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the organisation conforms with forthcoming GDPR legislation and has a robust governance framework.
Main duties and responsibilities:
*Create polices, code of conduct and agree roll out plan
*Map data (what we hold, how we obtain it, do we have consent)
*Review data held and write to data subjects to obtain updated consent
*Review data sharing agreements and data processing agreements
*Provide support, education and training to staff
*Seek to obtain external accreditation e.g Cyber Essentials
Compliance and audit
*Plan, design and implement an overall operational risk management process for the organisation including the creation of a risk register
*Develop a framework for auditing, conducting regular audits of policy and compliance to standards
*Create a central depository for all contracts & undertake pro-active contract management
*Set up of a risk and governance committee
*Make business continuity plans to limit risks
*Report to Senior Management Team and Board on potential risks/breaches
*Analyse contact to improve processes, to educate and to drive down volume
*Keep firmly abreast of Regulatory change, maintain a strong understanding of those changes and interpret/educate the changes for internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will have technical acumen; holder of the BSC Data Protection Practitioner's Certificate or equivalent and has experience of undertaking Privacy Impact Assessments and responding to Subject Access Requests. The candidate will have experience of developing an operational risk management system and the ability to understand broad business issues.
