The Role

Reporting to the Planning Accountant but with extensive engagement with the CFO, Business MDs and the rest of the divisional management teams.

Working in the Finance Department based at the head office in Caerphilly the role comprises a broad range of routine and ad-hoc tasks in the following areas:

·Development, maintenance and upgrade of financial systems used within PHS (including Agresso Financials, Essbase, INFOR BI and Lawson)

·Development and maintenance of several key databases held in Microsoft Access

·Consolidation, manipulation and interrogation of data from financial systems

·Involvement in preparing the Group management accounts

·Involvement in preparing the Group budgets and forecasts

·Working with IT on behalf of the department to ensure that all financial systems function and that issues are resolved promptly

·Ad hoc analysis of financial or similar data as required

Communication

·Provides incisive and user-friendly management information, meaningful financial analysis, input and advice to divisional colleagues and senior management to assist with understanding KPI reporting

·Provides accurate and timely reporting, establishing effective communications with other senior financial colleagues within the Group

·Displays well developed presentation and communication skills, verbally as well as numerically, with good report writing skills

·Is open and honest.

Technical and Financial Competencies

·Has excellent MS office skills, particularly Excel and Word

·Experience of SQL and VBA preferable

·Experience of preparing management accounts

·Studying for an Accountancy qualification preferably part qualified
