Position: Trainee Management Accountant
Location: Exchange Quay, Manchester
Job Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for two years.
Salary: £20,000 plus professional study support + bonus + benefit

About the role:

They are now recruiting a Trainee Management Accountant in the Financial Planning & Analysis function on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. The role holder will be required to assist the management accountant in the business planning process and the reporting of financial and non-financial information to the rest of the business. This includes the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts and the production of the monthly finance reports that are used to assess the performance of the business. The role holder will also provide assistance in the production of any other ad hoc analysis as requested by the business.

If you really impress during the first two years there will be the opportunity for a contract extension or a permanent position to enable you to complete your professional studies with them. With all of the statutory reporting, tax compliance, company secretarial, budgeting and forecasting work completed in-house, there will be potential opportunities across the accountancy spectrum.

To make the cut, you will need 300 UCAS points and a 2:1 or first-class honours degree, ideally in a mathematical, finance, accountancy or a business-related subject. Hard-working and enthusiastic, you should also be able to demonstrate a real commitment to building your future career in accountancy. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK for the duration of the contract.


- Financial year budgets.
- Long term forecasts.
- Monthly and quarterly forecasts.
- Monthly KPIs and management information o Monthly product reports.
- Monthly regional sales statistics.
- Quarterly analysis of Group sales for communication to the market.
- Extraction and analysis of reports and data from operational systems in use by the business.
- Ad hoc analysis requested by product managers or department managers.
- Any other ad hoc work as required by the department.

About you:

- 2:1 or a First-Class Honours Degree in mathematical or finance related subject.
- 300 UCAS Points.
- IT skills including MS Excel.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Communication, verbal and written.
- Planning and organisation skills.
