An opportunity has arisen for an Investment Operations Analyst on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Investment Operations is a complex and highly governed team based in York. We are looking for someone who is highly numerate, has excellent attention to detail, and is committed to accuracy and delivery to join the team.

There are c£50bn of investments in the 600 h-Aviva Unit Linked funds. On a daily basis c4,000 securities need to be independently validated, generating 2,500 unit prices used by administration teams to support our customers. On a monthly basis, c£1bn of customer transactions are transmitted to/from Fund Managers by Investment Operations.

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Analysing investment data
  • Validating system generated exceptions
  • Generating and instructing investment trades with Aviva Investors and external fund managers to align investments with policyholder liabilities
  • Calculating tax provisions for capital gains and income on Life fund policies
  • Distributing fund prices to admin systems in a timely manner
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and group risk framework
Essential Knowledge and skills:
  • Degree in analytical subject e.g. Mathematics/Accounting/Business is desirable
  • Proficient in numeracy and problem solving together with strong analytical skills
  • An understanding of financial markets, securities and investments
  • Knowledge of Unit Linked products and services would be beneficial
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising on accuracy
  • Able to perform competent impact assessments of issues and escalate appropriately
  • Ability to work flexibly to accommodate daily operations timeframes and project requirements
