Salary Negotiable £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on skills and experience plus benefits and perks.

Our client is looking recruit an experienced PHP Developer with a proven ability to bring strong problem-solving skills and forward-thinking ideas to their growing team.

Our client needs front end experience with a hands-on approach with the projects they are currently working with. As they have a number of large interesting and detailed bespoke complex projects under development constantly.

As a developer, your primary role will be to assist the development team in building and maintaining websites of the highest quality. This will include contributing to large projects but will also involve completing smaller requests that come in from clients who are currently on the clients Support packages. You will be working alongside senior members of the team and will be encouraged to grow as a developer.

Based close to Piccadilly Station in the heart of Manchester, are client has a close-knit team of Business Development Managers, Designers and Developers who will make you feel welcome in your new home!

What you will need to be:

  • Good organisational skills, and the ability to keep track of multiple and varied tasks
  • A fast learner who can hit the ground running with software and processes that might be new to you
Mandatory

  • The ability to Demonstrable your experience with HTML/CSS
  • The ability to Demonstrable your experience with PHP (OOP and MVC Frameworks)
  • The ability to Demonstrable your experience with JavaScript (including jQuery and/or MooTools)
  • Experience with database-driven CMS sites (e.g. using WYSIWYG editors)
  • Knowledge of MySQL and database management
  • Knowledge of FTP
  • Knowledge of local hosting platforms (e.g. LAMP or XAMPP)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of building websites to match designs in Photoshop
  • Strong cross-browser compatibility work
  • Experience using Git Version Control
  • Experience with Responsive Web Design
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an agency environment
Ideally experience of the following would be a great advantage

  • Experience with the Concrete5 CMS
  • Experience with timekeeping and project management software
  • Experience in LINUX server administration
  • Strong HTML5, CSS3 experience
  • Experience of integrating into external APIs
  • Experience using Magento and Codeigniter
Extra pointers-

The successful candidate will be very much involved with the entire project lifecycle, from the onset. It is therefore essential to see hands-on experience.

Ideally, it will be a mid-weight candidate, someone with experience in start-up environment
