Production Technician

Contract (Permanent)

Our client is looking for 10 Production Technicians, 5 with UPHOLSTERER and Fitting experience and 5 with INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINE experience - to enable the Company to achieve the agreed quality and production targets, by working as part of a team manufacturing and dispatching all products efficiently and effectively. To manage stock and equipment to a high standard, that must meet the quality standards set. Within dispatch ensure efficient picking, safe storage and maximising the availability of stock to support our Business Development Managers and our Customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

*To work within the production environment including one or more of the following:
*To cut fabric to required specifications using the hand-held fabric cutter and Auto Track Cutting System.
*Lay large quantities of fabric to meet the companies demand.
*To print products to a high standard in line with company branding and customer requirements using the printing equipment provided.
*To be able to mix ink to set guidelines.
*To be able to manipulate patterns for bespoke orders.
*To sew using the industrial sewing machine all stitched products to technical and bespoke patterns.
*Competent in upholstery with a good understanding of various types of fabric/materials used for specialised furniture.
*To use High Frequency Welding Machines for all welded products.
*Must be able to use the band saw to cut foam to required sizes, full training will be given.
*Must be competent at working a band saw for cutting products to the correct size, but full training will be given.
*To be able to use small hand tools to build and test products including upholstering and fitting
*Checking stock levels on a regular basis.
*To be able to select the relevant product to be despatched to the customer
*Required to record relevant information relating to products.
*All work to comply with company quality standards.
*Maintaining a clean and tidy workshop and working in a way to ensure all Company Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
*To provide support to other workshop/production roles.
*To maintain and service equipment to the agreed standard.
*Ensure any PPE supplied for use in carrying out your duties is used as instructed.
*Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with all customer visits.
*Agree to undertake all training offered that is necessary to maintain the skills required for this role.

*Flexible attitude to work additional hours to ensure deadlines are met.

Key Skills

******************Production skills in one or more of the following areas******************

*Previous lay cutting experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
*Industrial Sewing Machine Experience.
*Upholstery and fitting experience, working with bespoke patterns
*Screen printing experience preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
*Assembly and test of sub-components
*High-Frequency welders
*General Packing and dispatching skills preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
*Good attention to detail.
*Experience of working to a high standard of finish
*Flexibility, the ability to adapt to varied tasks as required
*General workshop knowledge
*Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change.
*Ability to work fast and under pressure to meet production demands.
*Ability to work on own initiative.
*Effective team worker.
*Manual handling, as some lifting is required
*Punctual, reliable mindset

Hours Monday - Friday 8.30 AM - 4.45 PM (40 Hours)

(Shift pattern initially days then moving to shift pattern below in future)

DAYS 6 AM - 2.15 PM Monday to Friday

AFTERNOONS 2 pm - 11 PM Monday to Thursday and Fridays 2 PM - 7 PM

Hourly rate: £7.95 - £9.00 per hour depending on experience
