Our client, a hand-tool manufacturer that has a reputation for producing high quality products for over 250 years, is looking for an experienced Works Maintenance Engineer to join their busy team and replace a retiring employee.

The role holder will be concerned with ensuring the high maintenance of the factory machinery, adhering to the maintenance schedule as well as attending to breakdowns, diagnosing problems and developing improvements. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, forward-thinking and keen to contribute to the Company’s continuing success.

This is a permanent opportunity based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We are offering a competitive salary between £25,000 and £30,000 depending on experience as well as future career prospects.

Duties will include:

    To attend to the repair, maintenance and servicing of premises, plant, equipment and tooling.To design and adapt machinery / tooling to cater for new developments.To continually search for improvements for the company’s operations and levels of efficiency.To implement and manage projects that will contribute to the company’s overall success.To suggest new and innovative ideas to the Company Directors regarding the Engineering area of the business.To procure and source the necessary engineering components.To ensure that good levels of communication are kept with the Production Manager and Company Directors.To be able to work as part of a team as well as individually.To comply with company policies and health and safety procedures.To ensure that all products are produced to a high quality, meeting specifications.
What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance engineering, with a wide range of skills including Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatics and Hydraulics. Whilst candidates are required to have experience in all 4 of these areas, the ideal candidate will be Electrically biased with extensive experience in Industrial Electronics. The chosen candidate must be IT literate and proficient in all of the standard Microsoft Office programs. Finally, previous experience of fault finding and providing breakdown diagnostics for CNC and PLC machinery would be a distinct advantage.
