Your new role
The successful candidate is likely to have experience and proven track record of having designed/built web/internet/mobile applications to stringent performance and availability requirements, e.g. considerate of the operational characteristics of the solution, not just its function.
You must understand how performance and availability is affected and how to diagnose risks and issues with an existing or proposed system and how to re-mediate/mitigate.
You must be able to articulate the problem to a variety of people, both technical and non-technical and be able to propose appropriate solutions (to meet/improve performance, capacity, availability).
This role is aligned to, and working as part of, the design and systems engineering teams.
Experience of performance modelling/estimation, with associated tools, would be expected in being able to demonstrate how to design/build for performance, for example.
What you'll need to succeed
The ability to understand internet (browser/web apps) channel front-end systems and their integration with backend systems of record. An understanding of how performance is designed and engineered into a system to meet performance requirements, e.g. for real time processes. Must be able to assess performance and capacity issues & risks, and suggest appropriate mitigation / remediation. Must be able to work as part of a team and work across organisational boundaries (good communication and collaboration skills).
