Job purpose: Managing a team of engineers involved in: - Planned Preventative Maintenance duties, Provision of breakdown cover, Installation of new equipmentThis will involve planning the scheduled work to be completed during the shift, organizing who will do what in the team, monitoring the standard of work carried out taking into consideration: - quality of work, economy of repair, time of repair, spares required, response times and coaching the team as to ways of improving their performance. It will also involve ensuring all work is carried out within Health and Safety legislation.Required to be a certain amount of hands on, providing support and assistance where needed on breakdowns/repairs etc.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good Communication/presentation skills.
Able to operate on own initiative.
Management experience of people
1Plan, control, train, develop in house labour & manage external labour as required to deliver agreed plant availability cost effectively.
2Initiate & agree training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs at minimum cost.
3Organise & monitor compliance with statutory Health & Safety requirement, ensures reports work in a safe manner.
4Optimise asset availability & efficiency by co-ordinating activities between the maintenance team, projects, the production team, hygiene team & technical team.
5To ensure that established standards of food quality & food safety are met.
6To report and present stock status issues.
7To maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
8To ensure that effective business relationships are developed within the factory and it's support functions.
