We are currently working in partnership with a modern manufacturing business. This client manufactures a number of injection moulded products and metal pressed prodcuts to be used within the Automotive sector.

The business are currently looking to appoint a skilled Maintenance Manager to work at the facility based in Monmothshire, South Wales. This is a full time permanent vacancy. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems.

They will need to have previous experience in an injection moulding background. Having previously worked as a technician or setter. This position may suit a maintenance technician or a toolmaker who has previous experience in the setting of moulding machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Directs employees and contractors engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance activities, such as snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance employees
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimise operating costs, and effect greater utilisation of labour and materials.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  • Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Confers with workers to resolve grievances.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget
  • Excellent understanding of LEAN techniques
  • Ability to set KPI's
  • Understand how to corodinate Unplanned and Planned Manintenance

    • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes and quality tools and techniques i.e.VSMs, 5S, Work Place Organisation, PDCA, Visual Management, Kaizens, etc
