About the Role
The Finance Assistant is responsible for all areas of financial administration for the home. Reporting to the General/ HR Manager, and supported by a central Management Accountant, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for maintaining oversight of the Homes financial performance, supporting other team members and monitoring performance versus budget. The Assistant will have a number of functional and administrative responsibilities, and will be a key part of ensuring that the home is successful financially. The role is also one of the key links between the home and Support Office and critical to the timely flow of information to and from it.
Specific duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to;
- Cash Management
- Monitoring budgets and departmental expenditure
- Maintaining asset registers
- Resident Billing
- General administration
This role will be based at a functional care home and as such will involve interaction with residents on site.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone to build on their existing finance experience and qualifications to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the key measures and drivers of financial success in the business. We will also consider support for individuals to further develop their finance qualifications under the Company's Study Support Policy.
Required skills and experience:-
- Has 1+ years' experience in a finance position.
- Strong Excel skills / knowledge
- AAT qualified or equivalent
- Highly numerate with a good understanding of basic finance and accounting
- Cash management
- Strong team player with flexibility to pitch in and help with anything
- Proactive attitude with ability to take initiative and work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Patient and polite manner
- Driving license and willingness to travel
- Care home experience
- Finance analytical skills
