Sharp Consultancy are recruiting a Management accountant to join a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield. The company has an excellent reputation for developing its staff and making permanent offers to its temporary staff.

As the Management accountant you will be given the freedom to drive systems and processes and develop your own costing systems. The client needs somebody with experience in a similar industry or costing experience of some kind.

Roles and Responsibilities

*Prepare the summary expense slides with commentary for the monthly Performance Pack
*Take ownership of the budgeting process. Drive efficiencies and improvements within the process
*Prepare new financial year budgets
*Liaise with actuaries and marketing to collect data to determine costs of Products and business activity, analysing the data collected and recording/reporting the results; make estimates of new and proposed product costs
*Be point of contact for all expense/cost related queries
*Be point of contact for new initiatives / projects in relation to cost and cost management of the project
*Oversee direct report who will perform the month-end tasks such as run SAGE reports, prepare accruals, review/monitor expenses, prepare expense reports
*Identify cost saving opportunities and drive initiatives for cost saving

The person

You'll need to be highly analytical, have an advanced knowledge of using Microsoft Excel, a good communicator, reliable, have a positive attitude, the ability to take a problem solving approach and knowledge of accounting concepts would be advantageous.
