Exciting opportunity for a dynamic Litigation Lawyer / Executive to join our growing business.

The role will provide the successful applicant with a varied caseload focusing on Consumer Credit matters, challenging agreements with creditors and unfair contract terms. Additional involvement in business development activities will form an essential part of the position as will the development of new consumer claims products.

You must be a qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive with +3 years PQE in Consumer Credit and Civil Litigation, having managed a litigated fast and multi track caseload and possessing strong drafting and client care skills.

The successful candidate will also possess a high level of motivation and an ability to act on their own initiative.

Main Purpose of the Role

Responsible for working as part of a team, leading and supporting investigations, challenging agreements with creditors and providing legal advice and litigation services to our clients upon consumer credit claims.

Additional involvement in business development activities will form an essential part of the position as will the development of new consumer claims products, balancing commercial opportunities with associated legal and compliance risks in a complex and fast evolving commercial and regulatory environment.

Scope of the Job

    Be responsible for the management and resolution of a volume caseload of consumer credit claims against financial institutions/finance providers;Conduct and manage litigation including instructing external Counsel where necessary;Ensure that all funding options for a case are fully researched and the most appropriate utilised;Provide legal services to clients whilst maintaining standards associated with Law Society and SRA rules;Control and management of work in progress ensuring that it is recorded and converted into paid profit costs;Compliance with client care and complaints procedures;To delegate effectively and efficiently, ensuring that work on the file is carried out at the right level, maximising profitability and assisting the development of other staff;Research and advise on the law relevant to markets under investigation;Develop the consumer credit claims business of the Company and assist in identifying and creating new consumer credit claims products; Contribute to legal know-how and provide internal legal training to maintain a high knowledge and skill base amongst the team;Provide leadership and ensure that high standards of quality are maintained;To actively promote the Company’s brand at all times.
    Solicitor or Legal Executive qualified to practice in England and Wales with 2+ years post qualified experience in Consumer Credit Act claims and civil litigation, having managed a volume litigated fast and multi-track caseload for individual clients to final conclusion.
