A vacancy has arisen for an experienced deputy manager to join a small, well run care home based in Walsall. The home specialises in providing person centred care to elderly residents. The role comes with a good salary and a supportive management team.
The role is based in a residential home for adults with dementia care needs. The home has had a recent CQC inspection and the outcome was good in all areas so there are no issues with the home for the incoming deputy manager. The owners are looking for an experienced deputy or team leader to work closely with the home manager to ensure that high standards are maintained.
There are many duties involved in the role of Deputy Manager including:
- Lead and manage the staff team
- Create a homely atmosphere which in a service for elderly residents
- Liaison with relatives and friends
- Compiling and managing staff rotas
- Managing the home in the absence of the manager
- Staff recruitment, training and development
Ideally you will be currently in a team leader or deputy manger role within an elderly care setting. You will have knowledge of dementia care needs and an excellent understanding of CQC requirements. You must hold NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care and be willing to develop further through continued development. The role will include evening and weekend working on a rota basis so some flexibility with working hours will be required.
