As a key role for the business the Commercial Engineer will:Work closely with the Sales, Procurement and Operations Team responsible for delivering consistently high quality and commercially viable bespoke solutions for customers; ensuring any non standard vehicle specifications are ‘fit for purpose’.
  • Acting as a technical engineering specialist to support customer sales meetings, to advise on commercial vehicle fleet performance, pricing analysis and updating/monitoring VPM costings and negotiate supplier contracts. Providing Engineering authority input and financial approval.
  • Provide MI reporting and P&L forecasts on a quarterly basis to develop strategies to maximise margins and maintenance revenues. Presenting information regularly on any updates and
  • findings to influence senior management; establishing and maintaining strong commercial relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure safety is keep paramount and all company Health and Safety policies and procedures are to current regulations - conducting regular Audits and checks in accordance with compliance.
  • Continuing to monitor existing Customer fleets, vehicle marques and classes and restore profitability if necessary.
  • Experience:HNC/HND/Degree level/Chartered member or equivalent in Mechanical or Engineering discipline or similar with proven work related experience in similar management roles in Vehicle Management/Transposition/ Fleet Management/Automotive.Highly effective communicator coupled with experience of managing customer and supplier relationships.Strong numerical, analytical and report writing skillsConfident negotiating, influencing and able to present findings to senior teams.
