Robert Half are exclusively recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work for an exciting organisation based in Southampton. This opportunity will be working as part of an established finance team with responsibilities of Accounts Payable and Financial Audits.

This position will be offering the opportunity to be responsible for maintaining the payable accounts, managing creditors, processing invoices and approving payment runs.

Key Responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger Clerk

  • Managing all invoices and uploading to the database
  • Working with supplier queries giving resolutions
  • Supporting the procurement team with processing invoices efficiently
  • Managing payment run approvals
  • Responsible for submitted cash forecasts
  • Maintaining existing and adding new supplier details
  • Managing the aged payable reports
  • Reconciling supplier rebates and managing the payments
  • Auditing all employee expense claims
  • Monthly reviews of creditor balances and assessing any risks in balance sheets
  • Be the point of contact regarding any payable queries

Key Requirements of the Purchase Ledger Clerk

  • Proven experience in a high-volume accounts payable role
  • Full understanding and knowledge of all VAT rules and regulations
  • Previous experience dealing with creditor balances and related credit control activities
  • Excellent IT literacy including ERP software and Intermediate Excel skills
  • Superb communications skills
  • Adaptable and willingness to learn

Salary: up to £25,000 DOE
